We welcome instructions to sell from almost any location and can advise on all aspects of sale or purchase, including VAT, RCD and the legal aspects. We also specialise in marine conveyance, so if you are buying privately and are not certain about the procedures, please call us.

Our enormous archives enable us to supply the provenance on almost any yacht built during the last 50 years and, in particular, the famous Nicholson range. To find out more, see our Nicholson Archives. Kings are the appointed yacht brokers to the Royal Naval Sailing Association.

We specialise in classic blue-water yachts such as Bowman, Rivals etc and on the power side, we specialise in Nelson and Seaward boats. For personal service, please contact Geoff Cook or Janie Goyder. We look forward to hearing from you.

Camper and Nicholson, is the oldest yacht building firm in the world and such has been the influence of this one English yacht building company on the development of so many aspects of boating, ranging in scale from the design of folding canoes and dinghies for an afternoon’s club racing to the mighty J’s, from small offshore racers to elegant steam yachts and the largest cruising schooners, that it is tempting to speculate on just how different things might have been but for the continuing presence of Camper and Nicholson’s over more than 200 years of boating and yachting in all its facets.

Following the successful launch of the Nicholson 32, further production boat designs appeared at a rate of roughly one per year, ranging in size from the Nicholson 70 down to the tiny Nicholson 27, the size and opulence at any given time, mirroring the roller coaster nature of the British economy.
The Nicholson 70 was the apogee of this great yards GRP production run and this stunningly beautiful yacht is the ideal family world cruiser or small charter yacht.

Designed for ease of handling with a small crew, the all GRP hull and deck by Halmatic is built to Lloyds requirements and the ballast is totally encapsulated. The twin engines and bow thruster ensure easy handling in the close quarters of modern marinas.

"SPIRIT OF SANGOMA" is a fine example of the only 8 produced and with only 7 still in existence she is a truly unique and beautiful yacht. She has been well maintained, cared for and used consistently for gentle cruising in the Western Mediterranean prior to which she “summered” on the Eastern seaboard of the USA and “wintered” in the Caribbean. The previous owner carried out a complete refit in the UK in 1994/95 and then cruised her to Capetown where the present owner purchased her in 1999. Since then she has been subject to a continuous program of updating and improvement including new decks, engines, generator, electronics etc. She requires some very minor refitting particularly in the electrical areas which while serviceable and containing up to date equipment requires some rationalisation after the frequent additions and the improvements in technology; all routine maintenance has been professionally carried out to a very high standard and she is truly ready to take her new owners anywhere in the world.

She is lying on the West Coast of Italy in beautiful Tuscany within an hour and a half’s drive from Pisa airport (flights from London and Bristol)– viewing can be arranged by the Broker. The current berth is rented and may be available to a purchaser.

The present owners and their family have enjoyed "SPIRIT OF SANGOMA" enormously in many parts of the world in all conditions. Age and an increasing time commitment to Australia have brought her to the market. They understand the boat and its systems in great depth and would be keen to provide a detailed handover of this much loved vessel.
